Unfabulous chronicles the life and times of 13-year-old Addie Singer, who periodically breaks into song to describe her feelings. She navigates her life using her own music as a compass. Each episode opens with an embarrassing incident that happens to Addie in her junior high school life. The story line then retreats backward in time to explain how she came to find herself in the opening mishap.

Addie Singer is a quick-witted, self-aware 13-year-old who is just trying to get through junior high school one day at a time. She's a typical teen with one exception: her penchant for sometimes silly, but poignant song-writing.
